New Groups to Tackle Loneliness

Better Together Norfolk is about to start a series of exciting new groups to tackle loneliness. These include fishing groups and walking and birdwatching groups. If you would like to get involved or help run these groups, please get in touch.

Roys of Wroxham have given us a grant to buy binoculars and other pieces of equipment for the walking groups to do more
than just simply go out for a walk. The groups planned for Yarmouth and Norwich will be able to go bird watching both in local parks and further afield in the Norfolk countryside.

The new Norwich based fishing group is set to start on 14th July at Shallowbrook Lakes with further dates scheduled for August. Thanks must go, in particular, to Stephen and Sandy for supporting this initiative to help tackle loneliness in Norfolk.

One of our staff who is organising the groups said:

“We know how important and valuable getting out and participating in such activities can be to tackling loneliness and social isolation which seem to have been exacerbated by the pandemic.”
