Get Support

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE: As a service designed to deal with loneliness and social isolation Better Together is well placed to support our existing clients, as well as taking on additional referrals from people who find themselves unexpectedly isolated.  Social distancing requirements mean that it is no longer be possible to attend group activities or undertake home visits but we are still able to offer telephone support, video chat and signposting to other support.  For people who do not have online access, we can offer regular phone calls.

Our Freephone Better Together Helpline remains open from Monday – Friday 9am-5pm so if you would like information, advice, support or just a friendly chat, please call them on 0300 303 3920.

Please have a look at our Get Support during Covid-19 for specific help during this time, including ways to keep active, occupied and entertained whilst staying at home.  And follow us on Facebook and Twitter for further information and regular updates.

Most Better Together staff are continuing to working from home.  If you wish to contact a member of our Team, please go to Our Team page for staff email addresses and work mobile numbers. (July 20, 2020)

Better Together helps people who are lonely or socially isolated connect to activities and groups in their area, for the benefit of their mental and physical health and wellbeing.

We offer 1 to 1 support over the phone with our free telephone helpline, or we can arrange for one of our Life Connectors to visit a client in their home or in a convenient community location.

Our team will help a client identify the activities they would like to take part in and helping them overcome the barriers to taking part.  It may be lack of confidence,  transport or accessibility issues, or because they have caring or family commitments which make it difficult for them to leave the home.

We support local community groups to organise events which bring people together, by providing grants, resources, information and advice and we can help new community initiatives get off the ground.   We are also actively supporting the activities and development of Men’s Sheds in Norfolk, which play an important role in bringing men in our community together, offering activities, support and a means of connection.
