Chatty Chairs for Children

Our Chatty Chairs are becoming increasingly popular across Norfolk. They are now looking at a new audience: young people. With that in mind we have created some ‘Chatty Chairs for Children’.

The chairs have. been decorated by one of my volunteers Jodie. Jodie is an art student studying art for wellbeing at Great Yarmouth College.

The chairs will be located in the Nursery at the college to encourage children to take a seat and chat, share worries, or take time out and listen to a story.

The other chairs have been travelling around Norfolk. Last year they attended a community lunch held by Bridges Plus in Norwich. It was great to meet so many people attending the lunch and to hear about the work that Bridges Plus undertakes. The topic was about managing mental health and the importance of talking to others. Clive Lewis MP attended the lunch and made use of the chairs to chat to people during the morning.

Some of the other places they have visited included Harleston Library, where they took centre stage, allowing people to sit and chat whilst enjoying a free tea or coffee or sitting in the quiet to enjoy a good book.
