Community Volunteers: Arts & Crafts Groups

Community volunteers have been pivotal in keeping so many local groups going. We also know how important these groups are in reducing loneliness and social isolation across Norfolk

The Diss branch of Norfolk Knitters and Stitchers have been busy people. They made lots of lovely hats, scarves, gloves, covered hot water bottles and lap blankets for our Christmas Hampers that we gave out to more than 100 households in Great Yarmouth. Click here to find out how our Christmas hampers spread join to households across Great Yarmouth this year.

Special thanks go to Heather who leads the Diss Knitters and Stitchers. We’d also like to thank all the community volunteers involved making these woolly items.

Elsewhere, the Arty Crafty Tuesdays community art group made over 100 Christmas Cards. Over the last months the group has brought people together who share a passion for creativity.

We would like to thank all the community volunteers and supporters who have helped with various Better Together projects and groups. Without these community voluneers we could not achieve all the community initiatives that we undertake. We know that they make such a positive difference to people’s lives.

Going forward, we are planning to create a Community Quilt and we would love people to take part. Volunteers don’t have to be an expert sewer of knitters to contribute. If you are interested in taking part contact: pam.spicer@bettertogethernorfolk.org.uk  phone or text 07765471002
