Cookery Courses Continue

Our free cookery courses are continuing and recently we delivered two more 4-week Slow Cooker workshops. The first workshop was at St Johns Church, Harleston (a regular venue for our cookery workshops).

We also visited Depwade Court in Long Stratton, where we had a lovely group of of about half a dozen. Although attendees lived in the local area, some hadn’t met each other before they attended the workshop, but are now planning to meet up regularly after the workshops have finished.

The group explored different recipes, and decided what they would like to make out of a list of recipes provided. Everyone received a new slow cooker to make life easier and help them cook their hot meals more economically.

We have more slow cooker workshops organized for the New Year and will also be introducing our first 15-minute meals workshop. The cookery courses are a great way to learn new skills, and an opportunity to mix and meet new people.

Here is some of the feedback we received from people who attended:

“Attending the course on a Monday gave me something to look forward to after a weekend on my own”

“It’s been lovely spending time with others, and learning how to enjoy cooking again”

“I had no idea how versatile a slow cooker could be, I thought you could only cook stews in it”

We have been putting on these popular free cookery courses since last year. We started our slow cooker course with a demonstration at the Harleston Food Festival on Friday 16th of September.
