Welcoming our new Life Connectors

We’d like to welcome our newest life connectors Michelle Ford, Olivia Okoye and John McBride. Michelle and John will be taking over as Life Connectors in the Great Yarmouth area. Olivia is the newest life connector for Norwich. They are settling in brilliantly, hitting the ground running and of course will be made to feel very welcome within the organisation.

Michelle: New Life Connector for Yarmouth

Michelle Ford has introduced herself:

“I am one of two new staff members starting in the Great Yarmouth area. The aim is to reduce loneliness and social isolation within the Great Yarmouth area. I have had a great first month learning from colleagues and all the amazing services within the area. It’s been amazing to find so many great groups and activities in the area. I also am really looking forward to discovering the area, groups, people and making a difference to the people I will be supporting. In my spare time I love listening to music, reading, meditating, and spending time with friends and family. I look forward to meeting you all”

John: New Life Connector for Yarmouth

John McBride said:

“My name is John, I have recently taken up a position at Voluntary Norfolk in the Better Together Norfolk project to reduce loneliness and social isolation within the Great Yarmouth area. I’m now into my second week and it has been great seeing the work and effort that’s being made in the community. I am really excited to join in and try my best to make a solid difference in the community. Outside of work I am a big motorcycle enthusiast.”

Olivia: New Life Connector for Norwich

Olivia Okoye said:

Within my team Better Together Norfolk, I work as a life connector and my main objective is to help combat social isolation and loneliness with people that reside in Norwich. The team is full of so many great helpful, admirable people. They have welcomed me with open arms. I have already started to carry my own caseload and love getting out there meeting others and helping them work towards their goals.

“It has also been a real eye-opener to see how advantageous our work is. I am quickly finding out how important the work that BTN does in supporting other services in the county. It has been a thoroughly fulfilling, worthwhile  and sometimes challenging. Overall it is an amazing experience and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve in 2023.”
